Famous early explorer and cartographer of Dereth[1][2] and friend of Elysa Strathelar.[3] Father of Ardivan Locke.[4]
Alatar Locke was the first great human explorer in the vast lands of Dereth. He was the first to chart the Direlands, the first to delve into the Halls of Lost Light[5], and discovered the Empyrean “The Floating City[6]” at least a decade before any other Isparian encountered it. [7]
He also, as he endlessly reminded the intelligentsia, coined the term “Empyrean and much of his research and explorations focused on Empyreans and their structures.[8][9][10][11][12][13] After searching through a series of ancient Empyrean texts, Alatar Locke discovered that Tursh was some sort of being worshiped as a god.[14]
Alatar currently resides at the Precarious Sojourn, where he makes Unframed maps of Dereth.
