* Open with a [[Sturdy Iron Key]] or [[SIK]], these are dropped by a variety of [[:Special:Whatlinkshere/SIK | creatures]].
* Random landscape spawn chest.
* Chests that spawn randomly on the landscape hold 0-2 mana stones and 1-3 level VII scrolls. One of the scrolls can be a wall, ring, volley or blast war scroll (rare).
* Unlocked using a [[Sturdy Iron Key]].
* If the burden of the chest ends in 10, 40, or 70, the chest will contain a rare scroll. (Normal scrolls will result in burden ending in 30, 60 or 90.)
* This chest is one of two ways to get Ring or Wall spell scrolls - see [[Feruza ibn Salaq]] for information on the other method.
* Chests in fixed locations in dungeons drop low level loot. A partial list of locations with such chests:
* Burden used to be an indication of the presence of a rare scroll, but is no longer due to the addition of the weapon.
