Quest Overview

You must have completed the first five Whispering Blade quests in order to begin this quest. You need to have access to Vissidal Island.

Walk Through

1. You must be a member of the Whispering Blade with access to the Whispering Blade Chapterhouse.
2. Speak to Varlanna near the start.
3. Take the Eastwatch portal in the Town Network in the Annex wing
4. A short run to the northeast is White Spear's Cave at 93.8N 40.1W. Inside are some Uber Penguins and Harrak the White Spear. Kill Harrack, he drops the Head of the White Spear‎.
5. Return to the Whispering Blade Chapterhouse and give Varlanna the head.
6. Travel to the far east end of Vissidal island to the Altar Nest at 75.9N 69.4E. At the bottom is Vargol the Scion that drops the Head of the Mukkir Scion. He is protected by several Mukkir Broodlings. Once you have completed this quest you cannot reenter this dungeon.
7. Return to the Whispering Blade Chapterhouse and give Varlanna the head for the Whispering Blade Chapterhouse Recall Orb.
8. You can now select a single token from the table by Varlanna. Any token will be fine, as Eddred the Wolf will exchange it for a Whispering Blade Token. This token is used as currency to your weapon from the Whispering Blade Quartermaster.
9. Update Gears of Change:
   1. You can also exchange your weapon at Eddred the Wolf for a Whispering Blade Token
   2. You can exchange this Whispering Blade Token for an Ingot of the weapon of your choice at the Whispering Blade Quartermaster

Varlanna tells you, "You may be a doughty enough warrior... I'll tell you my needs plainly. I need help to track down Grael. Yes, a tall order, but not as tough as one might think. There are creatures we have had reports of, who might be, ah, enough like Grael to help us track him down. It's a peculiar kind of tracking magic, not well known outside of the Whispering Blade."
Varlanna tells you, "If I had the heads of a Ruschk elder of particularly rarified blood and of a Mukkir Scion, that may be enough for me to start on his trail. Please, first go to the east coast of the Isle of Ruin in the Halaetans and bring me the head of the Ruschk elder called Harrak the White Spear. He is a tough and crafty old fiend, and of surpassingly pure blood, so beware. The White Spear's cave can be found at 93.8 N, 40.1 W. Beware, he keeps a brood of vicious penguins to guard him."

Varlanna tells you, "What a magnificent brute. Almost a pity that he had to die. He was the last of his proud bloodline, you know. Yes, this will help with my tracking methods. Now, if you would be so kind, please journey to Vissidal Island and seek the altar of Grael. Near the altar, at 75.9 N, 69.4 E, is the nest of a powerful Mukkir, who I think would help me with the second part of my tracking technique. Bring me the head of the Vargol the Scion from the Altar Nest, and I shall reward you."

Varlanna tells you, "You have also earned the right to a Silveran weapon from our most closely guarded stores. Please pick a token representing your weapon of choice from the table behind me."

So choose your token carefully from the table behind Varlanna, and bring it to me. I will give you a Silveran weapon that corresponds to the token you give me."

You give Eddred the Wolf Silveran Bow Token.
Eddred the Wolf tells you, "Well done, friend. You have earned a most powerful reward for your loyal and courageous service to the realm."
Eddred the Wolf gives you Red Rune Silveran Bow.

Notes

• During the Gears of Change event, the following changes were made to the quest:
  • Eddred the Wolf now gives you a Whispering Blade token instead of the weapon.
  • Red Rune weapons are now purchased from the new Whispering Blade Quartermaster using the token.
  • Weapons can now be changed by giving them to Eddred the Wolf for a new Whispering Blade Token which you can use to get a different weapon (from ingot vendor). This can be repeated.
