Protection spells are designed to protect a player against damage to a specific element. Protection spells can be cast by players and monsters alike. Protection spells can occur on jewelry, clothing, weapons, armor, single-use gems and rare jewels, infinite-use Ideograph rares, and in some cases can be cast by hookable housing and structural items. Protection spells of different levels will not add to one another, but will instead surpass one another based on the highest percentage of protection offered.

A cantrip is a spell designed to stack with Self/Other Protection spells. Cantrips can occur on jewelry, clothing, weapons, armor, and in some cases can be cast by hookable housing items. Cantrips do not stack on other Cantrips of the same type, but can surpass one another according to the highest amount of percentage protection they offer. Cantrips will also stack with Protection Augmentations.

Moderate Bludgeoning Ward +12% Bludgeoning Resistance
