Quest Overview

• You must first obtain a base weapon before it can be upgraded.

Walk Through

Base Weapons

1. [OPTIONAL] Purchase the Aun Shimauri (Text) from Aun Laranawa the Barkeep in Timaru at 44.3N, 78.0W
2. Run and speak to Aun Shimauri at 46.7N 70.7W.
3. Kill Hea Tumeroks, until you find one of the three totems.
4. Hand the totem to Aun Shimauri to be flagged to enter Palenqual's Cavern at 48.9N, 72.5W.
5. Head into the dungeon, find your way down until you end up in a room with Aun Kerehanua, an NPC shopkeeper.
   • Note: This can be a confusing dungeon, see the map for help.
6. Purchase a the weapon(s) of your choice (10,000p), they are attuned.
7. Now head back out to Marae Lassel and hunt Hea Tumerok until you find 3 more totems of your liking (each totem has a different purpose):
   • Tip: The Hea Raider's Cache at 43.3N 82.5W on the plateau is a good place to find a consistent spawn of Hea.
   • Totem of Audetaunga - Melee Defense
   • Totem of Tanae - Damage Bonus
   • Totem of Volkama - Spells
8. When you have found the 3 totems of your choice, combine them (the order does matter).
9. Attach the triple totem to your base weapon, to create a Living Weapon!

Upgraded Weapons

1. Enter the Renegade Fortress (120+) at 29.5S 65.6W. The portal is in the basement of the Lugian style building to the right.
2. Run through the dungeon until you see a Renegade Elite Trooper, a very tall tumerok. Kill him with 4,800 hp and loot a green Vault Key.
3. Run back the way you came and find the Tumerok Vault which is in a room in a dead end hallway.
4. Unlock the Tumerok Vault with the Vault Key and loot the Ritual Spear.
5. Run back up through the dungeon past where you found the Elite Trooper till you come to a big open room with a surface portal. In that room behind a door is the Living Vault.
6. Open it with the Ritual Spear and loot the Nutrient Oil Soaked Totem.
7. Apply the Oil Soaked Totem to any of the Living Weapons to upgrade them to Renegade Weapons.

Lore & Dialog

You give Aun Shimauri Totem of Volkama.
Aun Shimauri tells you, "Thank you, traveler. You have proven your friendship to the Aun. Now...Curses on the Hea and their thieving ways! If they had not stolen our totems, I would be able to reward you myself. But...I shall have to do second best. Here is a history I have written that explains Palenqual's gift of living weapons to us."

Aun Shimauri tells you, "Furthermore, I shall grant you permission to enter Palenqual's Caverns, where Kerehanua is waiting to help you create one of these weapons for yourself. Kerehanua's a chary old skinflint, so I wouldn't be surprised if he charged you a little bit for his weapons. Don't worry--his heart's in the right place. For now--seek out the visage of Tonkamu on the northern side of Wharu's Ridge, and you will find our hiding place."
