The Composite Bow and Crossbow

Step 1: Crafting the Stave

  1. Hunt Great Mattekars until you find two Great Mattekar Horns. (VERY low drop rate)
  2. Head to Ayan Baqur and hand your two Great Mattekar Horns to Yuan Hanzu. You'll receive two Shaped Great Mattekar Horns.
  3. Hunt Lugians until you find two Large Lugian Sinews.

  4. Repeat this step to get 2 arms for the stave.

Step 1b: Crafting the Stock for the Crossbow

  1. Hunt Golems made of wood such as Wood Golems, Small Wood Golems and Forest Lords until you find a Wood Heart.
  2. Hand your Wood Heart to Barnar the Tinker in Cragstone at 25.3N 49.1E to receive a Crossbow Stock.

  1. Hunt Drudge Raveners until you find three Ravener Guts.

Step 4: Adding the Handle

  1. Notes:
    • If you want to add the highest tier handle, skip this step and go directly to the Composite Weapons Upgrade quest.
    • You can upgrade the handle to your weapon at any time by simply adding another Bone Handle to your weapon.
  2. Hunt Dark Revenants (some other Undead Creatures also drop the thighbone) until you find a Dark Revenant Thighbone.

  3. Attach the Bone Handle to your Composite Bow or Composite Crossbow to increase its stats

The Composite Atlatl

Step 1: Crafting the Stave

  1. Hunt Great Mattekars until you find two Great Mattekar Horns.
  2. Head to Ayan Baqur and hand your two Great Mattekar Horns to Havala bint Mylos. You'll receive two Carved Great Mattekar Horns.
  3. Hunt Lugians until you find two Large Lugian Sinews.

Step 2: Strengthening the Stave

  1. Hunt Spiked Grievvers until you find three Grievver Spikes (low drop rate).

  • Note: There is an Alchemy Skill Check for this step.

Step 4: Adding the Handle

  1. Notes:
