One of the twelve Gift Boxes

• This is a seasonal quest which can only be done once per year, normally during one week each December.
• The rewards from this quest vary by level:
  • For level 36 or lower, running this quest results in XP sufficient for one full level for every Gift Box you use.
  • For levels 37-49, running this quest results in 1.5 million experience for every Gift Box you use.
  • For higher level characters your reward for using the Boxes is one of the random rewards (see Item Rewards below). Grand Casino keys seem to be the rarest, and Colosseum Coins the most common.
• For completing all 12 Boxes you are additionally rewarded with a Polar Ursuin Lair containing a Pet.

Walk Through

1. Travel to 12 locations scattered throughout Dereth to find 12 hidden Gift Boxes.
2. Use each Box for a special reward (experience or one of five trophy rewards listed below) and the title Gifted.
3. Once you've used all 12 Boxes you will be rewarded with a Polar Ursuin Lair that summons the Pet Polar Ursuin Cub and the second title Seasonal Seeker.

Routes in Ascending Order of Difficulty

The following 4 routes are safe for all characters:

1. Linvak Tukal - 77.8S, 27.9E: Town Network to Linvak Tukal, turn right and use the ramp on the south wall to go up. Then go inside and up the internal ramp once, and then west to the Box.
2. Neydisa Castle - 69.7N, 17.6E: Town Network to Neydisa Castle, then through the front gates, straight ahead into the building and up to the third floor.
3. Plateau Village - 44.3N, 43.4W: Town Network to Plateau Village, then straight ahead into the building at 44.3N, 43.4W and up to the second floor.
4. Xarabydun - 41.9S, 16.1E: Town Network to Xarabydun, then run down the tunnel at the drop and stick left until come to the Box under a beam of light.

The following routes involve some danger for lower level characters:

1. Empyrean Lighthouse - 26.4S, 97.0E: Town Network to Tou-Tou, then run NE and up the Lighthouse ramps to the top.
2. Ulgrim's Island - 94.8S, 9.7W:
   1. First get Sake and Wah Chon's Winter Lager from the bar in Nanto:
      • Town Network to Nanto, run to Wah Chon the Barkeep in the Bar at 52.4S, 82.0E.
   2. Travel to the Drunken Madman:
      • If you have access to Ayan Baqur, go there and give Ulgrim the Sake and he'll open a portal to the Drunken Madman. (Safe Route)
      • If you do not have access to Ayan, go to the Town Network and then Baishi, and then run to the Drunken Madman at 53.0S, 61.0E.
   3. Give the Winter Lager to the Drunken Madman for a portal to Ulgrim's Island (discard Sake).
   4. The Box is under the stairs inside of the house at the drop.
3. Old Frost Essence Island - 16.3N, 53.5E: Town Network to Rithwic, then run to Leafdawning Settlement portal at 8.7N, 60.9E. Then run North into the river.
4. Obsidian Span - 34.6N, 41.2E: Town Network to Fort Tethana, then run to Hilltop Portal at 1.7N, 71.5W and run to the bridge -OR- there is a tieable portal in the Direlands Subway (lockpick required) -OR- you can run down the road from Holtburg (Safe Route).
5. Festival Stone of Midsong - 0.0N, 0.0E: Town Network to Al-Jalima, then run SSW to Midsong Cottages portal at 5.7N, 4.3E. Then run to 0,0 which is past the Festival Stone and up against the mountainside.
6. Swamp Temple - 23.4S, 47.9E:
   1. First portal to the Swamp:
      • If you are level 45+, Facility Hub to Level 45+ area Blackmire portal.
      • If you are under level 45, Town Network to Yanshi, then run East to Swamp Temple Place Portal at 10.3S 45.7E.
   2. Run to the Bunker at 23.4S, 47.9E.
   3. Turn right as you enter and take the stairs up. The Box is behind a false wall guarded by some Golems.
7. Igloo - 73.8N, 13.7W: Town Network to Stonehold, then run North and then East to the Igloo. Note: To avoid the cliffs go onto the high plain first by heading North from Stonehold, and then go East.
8. Frost Haven - 68.6S, 26.0E: Town Network to Qalaba'r, then run West to Mattekar Slopes portal at 74.8S, 17.8E. Go past Frost Haven (beware) to the Box on the hill.

Town Crier tells you, "A close family friend of mine discovered some giant gift on his way to visit me for the holiday season. I wonder if there are more gifts around Dereth?"

Ulgrim the Unpleasant tells you, "The only giant gift box I want would be full of ale!"

Ulgrim the Unpleasant tells you, "I found a nicely packaged little gift box the other day. I was tempted to open it, but I resisted the temptation. The last time I opened up a strange gift that some stranger had left for me, I ended up on this godforsaken world."
Ulgrim the Unpleasant tells you, "No, wait, that's how I ended up naked and penniless in Canfield with a big bruise on my forehead. I ended up here because I drunkenly stumbled into a portal, thinking it was a clever new kind of outhouse."
