One of the 12 Holiday Gift Boxes

Overview

• This is a Seasonal Quest which is only active once per year, it is usually turned off before new year.
• The rewards from this quest vary by level:
  • For level 36 or lower, running this quest results in XP sufficient for one full level for every Gift Box you use.
  • For levels 37-49, running this quest results in 1.5 million experience for every Gift Box you use.
  • For higher level characters your reward for using the Boxes is one of the random rewards (see Item Rewards below).
• For completing all 12 Boxes you are additionally rewarded with a Pet summoning item.
• The Gift Box quest was once again turned Off on January 2nd, 2013.

Walk Through

1. Travel to 12 locations scattered throughout Dereth to find 12 hidden Gift Boxes.
2. Use each Box for a special reward (experience or one of five trophy rewards listed below) and the title Gifted.
3. Once you've used all 12 Boxes you will be rewarded with an Snow Tuskie Kennel that summons the Pet Snow Tuskie and the second title Seasonal Seeker.

4	91.3N, 49.7E	11	Aerlinthe	Go to Aerlinthe Island then run to East around the island to 91.3N, 49.7E (inside the floating tower in the middle of the Shimena Keep). This Gift Box is not lower level character friendly.
5	33.8S, 73.0E	1	Shoushi	Take the Town Network to Shoushi then upstairs inside The Gentle Hand store (healer).
6	94.8S, 9.7W	8	Qalaba'r	Go to Ulgrim's Island then into the Treasure room in Ulgrim's Basement. (Give Ulgrim the Unpleasant in Ayan Baqur some Sake to be dropped right beside the Drunken Madman at 53.0S 61.0E near Baishi, hand the Drunken Madman some Wah Chon's Winter Lager for access to Ulgrim's Island).
7	23.7S, 2.8W	3	Yaraq	Take the Town Network to Yaraq then run to 23.7S, 2.8W.
8	93.5N, 51.8W	12	Eastwatch	Take the Town Network to Eastwatch then run to 93.5N 51.8W (past gateway, past the house, inside small cave). (Shortcut: Run from EO) This Gift Box is not lower level character friendly.
9	87.0S, 87.8E	10	MacNiall's Freehold	Talk to the Watcher of the Dead at 60.1S, 88.1W in Ayan Baqur who then portals you to 91.1S, 89.3E on Xi Ru's Island, from there run to 87.0S, 87.8E and run due north along beach, the Gift Box is located under the Waterfall.
10	46.7N, 25.7W	7	Plateau Village	Take the Town Network to Plateau Village then take the Aloria Portal at 45.4N, 42.4W then run to 46.7N, 25.7W
11	60.4N, 72.1E	9	Bandit Castle	Take the Town Network to Hebian-To then take the Arrowdale Cottages portal at 41.4S, 82.1E. then run to 60.4N, 72.1E. (Suggestion : take Black Death Catacombs outside portal and then climb the mountain to east, north and then east again)
12	39.2S, 83.3E	2	Hebian-To	Take the Town Network to the Hebian-To which drops you at 39.8S, 82.6E, then run to the center of town at 39.2S, 83.3E. (There is also a the Spirit of Mercy, a Luminance Wisp and a Chest of Trade Notes there which have a 2 hours timer).

Town Crier tells you, "A close family friend of mine discovered some giant gift on his way to visit me for the holiday season. I wonder if there are more gifts around Dereth?"

Ulgrim the Unpleasant tells you, "The only giant gift box I want would be full of ale!"

Ulgrim the Unpleasant tells you, "I found a nicely packaged little gift box the other day. I was tempted to open it, but I resisted the temptation. The last time I opened up a strange gift that some stranger had left for me, I ended up on this godforsaken world."
Ulgrim the Unpleasant tells you, "No, wait, that's how I ended up naked and penniless in Canfield with a big bruise on my forehead. I ended up here because I drunkenly stumbled into a portal, thinking it was a clever new kind of outhouse."

Ulgrim the Unpleasant tells you, "It's a time for giving and I hear someone has left giant gift boxes around Dereth. Mine was full of ale."
Ulgrim the Unpleasant tells you, "Of course it only lasted me a day."

Notes

• During the Gaining Ground event, an experience reward was added for players who are below level 50.
• During the Dead of Winter event, the pet reward was changed from a Pet Polar Ursuin Cub to an Pet Olthoi Soldier.
• During the Present Dilemma event, A'nekshay Tokens and Ornate Gear Markers were added as a possible rewards.
• During the A Growing Twilight event the following changes were made to this quest;
  • Stipends were added as a possible reward.
  • Gold Keys were changed to Grand Casino Keys.
  • The pet reward was changed from a Pet Olthoi Soldier to a Pet Snow Tuskie.

Know Issues

• There was a problem with one of the Gift Box locations in 2012 so Turbine placed the final Gift Box in Hebian-to. Link. As a special reward for the inconvenience Turbine pleaced a Spirit of Mercy, Luminance Wisp and Chest of Trade Notes with the last Gift Box in Hebian-To and the 3 items lasted for 24 hours on a 1 hour usage timer.
