Background
Mnemosynes are ancient receptacles of the knowledge of the old Dericost kingdom. Those that convert themselves into the undead slowly rot (except for His Eternal Splendor) and their mental faculties fail so storing memories like this is important to them. When Bael'Zharon returned the undead wanted to safeguard their knowledge from the impending conflict. Two competing groups emerged in the hunt for mnemosynes: the Undead Hunters based in Tufa and the Archons of the Way which are found in a dungeon called the Mnemosyne Collection Site near Samsur. Mnemosynes come in three sizes ( Tiny, Small, and Large and are found in the loot of almost all undead.
Unlocking the Mnemosynes
The mnemoynes as they drop off undead are in their locked form. To unlock the mnemosynes you need to use a key crafted from a golem heart. The unlocked forms yield greater rewards when they are turned in. There is no skill check when unlocking a mnemosyne but there is a lockpick skill check for carving the golem hearts into the keys.

Archons the Way (Experience Rewards)
Note: The name "Archons of the Way" is from AC2's lore
Three undead NPCs known as the Archons of the Way are in charge of collecting the mnemosynes. They will reward you with experience for each mnemosyne (locked or unlocked) that you bring to them. They are found in a dungeon called the Mnemosyne Collection Site near Samsur at 2.5S 16.4E. The dungeon is just a landscape portal with no level restriction. There are no monsters in any of different parts of the dungeon.
Saelar is the first NPC and he accepts the Tiny Mnemosynes.
Saelar tells you, "Greetings, outlander. I am Saelar of Menilesh. My master, the great Tennar Portheran perished during the Fourth Sending, along with so many of our people. But before he died, he set in motion a way for our people to preserve our heritage and our memories in the face of the recent catastrophes that have befallen the Dericost. He invented a number of Mnemosynes, devices that allow us to record our stories and lives in these little pyramids."
Saelar tells you, "Tennar commissioned a locksmith from among your kind, whose name I do not know, to make these Mnemosynes lockable and to make keys to the Mnemosynes which only Tennar would possess. Unfortunately, I have no idea what happened to the lockpicker or his keys. The Mnemosynes have been coming in, and I have no way of opening them."
Saelar tells you, "But still, if you come across a Mnemosyne please bring them to me and I will reward you well. The collection for the larger Mnemosynes I have tasked to my assistants whom can be found through the portal."
A Locked Tiny Mnemosyne = 1000 xp
An Unlocked Tiny Mnemosyne = 5000 xp

A portal in the room with Saelar will take you to the Small Mnemosyne Collection Site. However, this portal is restricted to characters level 15+. Hahnain is the NPC that accepts the Small Mnemosynes.
Hahnain tells you, "Yes? Saelar told me to expect you. Why we need to deal with you...I will accept the Mnemosynes, but Renslem has been tasked with collecting and sorting the largest of the Mnemosynes. He can be found through that portal."

You've earned 25,000 experience.
A portal in the room with Hahnain will take you to the Large Mnemosyne Collection Site. This portal is restricted to characters level 30+. Renselm is the NPC that accepts the Large Mnemosynes.
