Quest Overview
Mnemosynes are ancient receptacles of the knowledge of the old Dericost kingdom. Those that convert themselves into the undead slowly rot (except for His Eternal Splendor) and their mental faculties fail so storing memories like this is important to them. When Bael'Zharon returned the undead wanted to safeguard their knowledge from the impending conflict. Two competing groups emerged in the hunt for mnemosynes: the Undead Hunters based in Tufa and the Archons of the Way which are found in a dungeon called the Mnemosyne Collection Site near Samsur. Mnemosynes come in three sizes ( Tiny, Small, and Large) and are found in the loot of almost all undead. An alternate way to obtain Mnemosynes is to gamble for them at the casinos.
Walk Through
- Obtain Mnemosyne
- (Optional) Unlock Mnemosyne. To unlock, use an intricate key on your Mnemosyne, see table below.
- Bring Mnemosyne to the Archons in Mnemosyne Collection Site or the Undead Hunters in Tufa.
- Route: To get to the Mnemosyne Collection Site it is just a short run from Samsur to 2.5S, 16.4E.
- Route: To get to the Undead Hunters in Tufa, the fastest way would be through Jungle Shadows, or you could run from Yaraq
- Turn in your Mnemosyne to the npc of your choice to get the reward of your choice, see reward tables below.
Unlocking your Mnemosyne
Each type of Mnemosyne requires a specific key. To create these keys, you will need to have someone with the Lockpick skill to carve they keys out of Wood, Copper, and Obsidian Golem hearts.

Lore & Dialog
Saelar tells you, "Greetings, outlander. I am Saelar of Menilesh. My master, the great Tennar Portheran perished during the Fourth Sending, along with so many of our people. But before he died, he set in motion a way for our people to preserve our heritage and our memories in the face of the recent catastrophes that have befallen the Dericost. He invented a number of Mnemosynes, devices that allow us to record our stories and lives in these little pyramids."
Saelar tells you, "Tennar commissioned a locksmith from among your kind, whose name I do not know, to make these Mnemosynes lockable and to make keys to the Mnemosynes which only Tennar would possess. Unfortunately, I have no idea what happened to the lockpicker or his keys. The Mnemosynes have been coming in, and I have no way of opening them."
Saelar tells you, "But still, if you come across a Mnemosyne please bring them to me and I will reward you well. The collection for the larger Mnemosynes I have tasked to my assistants whom can be found through the portal."
You give Saelar An Unlocked Tiny Mnemosyne.
Saelar tells you, "In His Name, who Walks Eternal! I never thought I would see these unlocked. I urge you to bring me more of these unlocked treasures, so that the Dericost society may live forever."
You've earned 5,000 experience.
Hahnain tells you, "Yes? Saelar told me to expect you. Why we need to deal with you...I will accept the Mnemosynes, but Renslem has been tasked with collecting and sorting the largest of the Mnemosynes. He can be found through that portal."
You give Hahnain A Small Mnemosyne.
Hahnain tells you, "Yes, here is the reward you were promised."
You've earned 5,000 experience.
You give Hahnain An Unlocked Small Mnemosyne.
Hahnain tells you, "I cannot believe that you fledglings know how to unlock Tennar's great Mnemosynes, and Saelar refuses to do anything about it. If Tennar were still alive...But Saelar is a more cautious sort. Here is your reward."
You've earned 25,000 experience.
Renselm tells you, "Hand me the Mnemosyne. You will get your just reward."
You give Renselm A Large Mnemosyne.
Renselm tells you, "Yes, this is for me."

Ya-Bint-Al-Hawa tells you, "Hello. Myself and my brothers-in-arms have been assigned to exchange gifts with those that donate undead trophies to the Shagar Zharalim. We were not expecting the plethora of trophies we have received, so we have adjusted our prizes accordingly."
Anid Al-Fadee tells you, "There have been many strange occurrences in the desert recently. On occasion, there are sudden sandstorms for no reason. It is very odd..."
Anid Al-Fadee tells you, "I realize that it is dangerous to hunt the more potent Sand Kings without protection. They cast a plethora of debilitating spells on any aspiring hunter. With the proper gift, I have been authorized to grant you a gem that can disperse such maladies."
Gabal Feteh tells you, "It seems that the Reavers that plagued us in our ancestral lands are here to plague us as well. Beware the Dune Reavers, for they are dangerous."
Gabal Feteh tells you, "Hello. Myself and my brothers-in-arms have been assigned to exchange gifts with those that donate undead trophies to the Shagar Zharalim. We were not expecting the plethora of trophies we have received, so we have adjusted our prizes accordingly."
