Carraida's Avenger

More of a fully fledged quest than a live event, but was only active during Toward Ancient Shores.

You had to defend Asheron's tower from Grael's Mukkir attackers.

The name Carraida refers to the Queen of Haebrous, who was killed by Grael when he lead a slave revolt.

Walk Through

  1. Begin by heading to Eastham and flagging for the portal to Asheron's Island by handing a Shadow Fragment or Makkar's Eye (rare live event item) to Asheron's Servant (17.8N, 64.3E).
  2. Once on the island, make your way up the hill to Asheron's Castle and enter one of the three Shadow Mouth dungeons.
  3. Fight your way to the bottom and kill the Mukkir General.
  4. When you defeat the general, pick the Confined Guardian Light that appears on the floor. You now need to repeat this for the other two dungeons.
  5. Once you have all three lights, you have to give one to each of the three Fonts of the Guardian Light in Asheron's Castle and then speak to Asheron's Servant back in Eastham again. He will then ask you to speak to the Guardians reinforcing the tower's barriers back at the castle to gain access to the white tower.
  6. Once in the tower, speak to the servant for some xp and the next task. You can speak to the Guardian again to be exit the tower.
  7. You now have to return to each of the mouths and kill the generals again, but this time loot a Shadow Anchor Piece.
  8. Give the three anchor pieces to the servant at the castle for a piece of the Carraida jewelry set.
  9. You can do this an additional 2 times to get the remaining pieces of the set (in order) if you wish.
  10. XP is awarded if the pieces are returned, and a title is also received upon acquiring all 3 pieces of the set. There is also a bonus when wearing all three pieces (see below).
  11. The entire set of rewards is rewarded one time only regardless of whether you traded them in for xp or not.

Lore & Dialog

The air resounds with a thunderous boom. A strong wind follows coming from the direction of Eastham. In Eastham a dark cloud can be seen forming over the island to the east of the city.

Emissary of Asheron tells you, "What do I do? My lord's house is under attack! Talk to the Servant, he knows what to do."
Emissary of Asheron tells you, "Save my lord's house!"

The Shadow Vortex loses its hold on the Contained Guardian Lights. As they escape the vortex bits of the shadow substance anchoring them also comes loose.
Mukkir General is shattered by your assault!
The Mukkir writhes in agony its limbs thrashing the floor.
Mukkir General says, "The tower will be ours. Grael will rule this world and you will be forgotten!"

You give Font of the Guardian Light Confined Guardian Light.
You drop the dark shell into the stone font and it shatters, suddenly releasing a burst of briliant blue light. A strong blue flame now burns in the font.

Asheron's Servant tells you, "You have done well. Here is a small reward for your help. Talk to the Guardians reinforcing the Tower's barriers and they will grant you access to the White Tower. I will speak to you further there for unlike you I am not confined to one place at a time."
You've earned 49,539,309 experience.

Asheron's Servant tells you, "I am glad that you were able to enter the tower. Since you re-lit the Guardian Lights, the Shadows have been waiting in pain and rage. I would surely have been driven mad by their screams if I were human. When Grael failed to break the Tower's defenses, he almost destroyed the rest of the castle in his terrible rage. He screamed something almost unintelligible about "the Shining One." Then, against all known laws of magic, Grael summoned three stable Shadow Mouths around this very spot on which we stand. Since the summoning of the Shadow Mouths Grael's forces have been relentlessly attacking the Tower."
Asheron's Servant tells you, "We must attack the Shadow Mouths and weaken the magical anchor that Grael is using to hold them open here."
The Servant of Asheron grasps your hands and a portion of his white light flows over them.
Asheron's Servant tells you, "I have protected your hands from the chaotic energies of the Shadow Anchor so that you may steal some of its energy from Grael's Generals who guard it. Delve into each of the Shadow Mouths and return with a piece of the anchor and I will reward you."

You give Asheron's Servant Shadow Anchor Piece.
The Servant of Asheron carefully takes the Shadow Anchor Piece from your hands and swallows it. His white light flares blindingly for a moment and then returns to normal.
Asheron's Servant tells you, "Good, retrieve the other two peices and I will reward you."

You give Asheron's Servant Shadow Anchor Piece.
The Servant of Asheron carefully takes the Shadow Anchor Piece from your hands and swallows it. His white light flares blindingly for a moment and then returns to normal.
Asheron's Servant tells you, "Good, retrieve the last piece and I will reward you."

You give Asheron's Servant Shadow Anchor Piece.
The Servant of Asheron carefully takes the Shadow Anchor Piece from your hands and swallows it. His white light flares blindingly for a moment and then returns to normal.
Asheron's Servant tells you, "We have destroyed a small portion of the Shadow Anchor's strength. Here is the reward that I promised you. This once belonged to the young Queen Carraida of Haebrous, who died in Grael's Slave Rebellion. After her death the King could not stand to be reminded of his loss and gave her three favorite pieces of jewelry to my master of that age, Lord Alashorn. She was a proud Haebrean. I'm sure she would be pleased to know that they have been passed on to a noble hero. Perhaps you can, in some small way, take vengeance against Grael on her behalf. When all three pieces are worn together, their energies will combine to bestow an additional enchantment upon you. If you continue your efforts in weakening the Shadow Anchor, I will give you the other pieces."
Asheron's Servant gives you Pendant of Carraida.
Asheron's Servant tells you, "Return this piece jewelry to me if you would rather hone your skills, but I warn you, I will never offer it to you again."

You give Asheron's Servant Shadow Anchor Piece.
The Servant of Asheron carefully takes the Shadow Anchor Piece from your hands and swallows it. His white light flares blindingly for a moment and then returns to normal.
Asheron's Servant gives you Wristlet of Carraida.
Asheron's Servant tells you, "Return this piece jewelry to me if you would rather hone your skills, but I warn you, I will never offer it to you again."
Asheron's Servant tells you, "Good, I feel the Shadow Anchor further weakening. Here is the second piece of Carraid's jewelry. If you continue your efforts in weakening the Shadow Anchor I will give you the final piece."

You give Asheron's Servant Shadow Anchor Piece.
The Servant of Asheron carefully takes the Shadow Anchor Piece from your hands and swallows it. His white light flares blindingly for a moment and then returns to normal.
Asheron's Servant grants you the title Carraida's Avenger.
Asheron's Servant tells you, "The forces holding the Shadow Mouths here have been significantly weakened thanks to your heroic efforts. I am sure we will be able to defend the tower now. Here is Carraida's Bracelet. Remember her."
Asheron's Servant gives you Bracelet of Carraida.
Asheron's Servant tells you, "Return this piece jewelry to me if you would rather hone your skills, but I warn you, I will never offer it to you again."
Asheron's Servant tells you, "If you wish to continue your efforts in weakening the Shadow Anchor I will reward you with a bit of knowledge for each piece you bring me. However, you must wait a short time before collecting more pieces. Exposing yourself to the Shadow Anchors energy so soon would be to great a risk. Event you might fall under Grael's control."
