This dungeon is one of many dungeons in the Sword of Lost Hope Quest designed to be completed with two or more people.
Doors in this dungeon are lever activated and can only be opened by levers in the lower Shade Stronghold dungeon and vice versa.
The next section in the Upper Heart of Darkness works in the same way.
