An Isparian cult on Dereth who worship the Living Shadow and seek to gain power from it.[1] They are enemies of both Knights of the Golden Flame[2] and the Shagar Zharala, the Zharalim[3][4]. These facts seem to hint at a Milantos origin, but that is unconfirmed.
They are trying to lure unwitting humans to be sacrifices for the shadows.[5] One of their victims is Bewren, who was turned into a shadow after being betrayed by his brother Jaeget. Because of his skills with curing hides and crafting, Jaeget was set to work with Olthoi Acid, and slowly but steadily lost interest in everything.[6][7][8]
Both the Raven Hand and Dardante tried to summon Grael and get him under their control.[9][10][11] Also, High Archon Lucane Kraest of the Raven Hand got a vision of a presence of a being not unlike his master, the Hopeslayer. and in the hope to find an ally or a puppet to control, he destroyed the first of the crystals, hidden by the Dericost in the Nightmare Gate on Caul.[2] The summoning of Grael did not go as planned[12], and both Pontifex Maegris of the Raven Hand and Count Dardante's main assistant, Archmage Aigonne, were turned into shadows.[13]
Some members of the Raven Hand have willingly embraced the Shadow and joined Isin Dule's cause. [14]
