Composite Bow with Exquisite Handle

Quest Overview

• You do not need to have a Composite Bow, Composite Crossbow, or Composite Atlatl to complete this quest, so you may do it ahead of time if you are planning to make one soon.
• The quest yields three separate bones/bone handles, all of which have different wield requirements. You only have to go as far as to get the bone that creates the handle you want.
• You can upgrade your weapon with a higher-level handle at any time by simply using the new handle on your composite weapon.

Walk Through

Step 1: Obtaining the Bone for the Handle

1. From Ayan Baqur, head to Ancient Caves located at 46.1S, 87.2W (near Pooky)
2. Once inside the Ancient Caves, locate and pickup a Ancient Bone from the ground.
   • Note: This bone creates the lowest wield bone handle. If you don't want a higher wield handle, you can skip the next two bones.
3. Use the Ancient Caves map (see above) to locate the Deeper Caves portal.
4. Once inside the Deeper Caves, locate and pickup a Hardened Bone from the ground.
   • Note: This bone creates the 2nd highest wield bone handle. If you don't want a higher wield handle, you can skip the next bone.
5. Use the Deeper Caves map (see above) to locate the Deepest Caves portal.
6. Once inside the Deepest Caves, locate and pickup a Fossilized Bone from the ground.
   • Note: This bone creates the highest wield bone handle.
7. Once you have your bone(s), return to Ayan Baqur.

Step 2: Carving the Bone into a Handle

1. Hand each bone handle to either Yuan Hanzu (for Bow or Crossbow) or Havala bint Mylos (for Atlatl) at 60.1S 87.9W and have them carve the bones into Bone Handles.
   • Note: If you dont want any or all of the Bone Handles you have carved, simply hand them back to either Yuan Hanzu (for Bow or Crossbow) or Havala bint Mylos (for Atlatl) and they'll give you XP instead.

Step 3: Adding the Handle to the Composite Weapon

1. Use the desired Bone Handle on a Composite Atlatl, Composite Bow, or Composite Crossbow to upgrade it:

You slide the Exquisite Handle into place with a satisfying snickt sound.
