This is a non-specific template. It can work with a variety of weapons and secondary skills, and should be considered more of a shell designed around non-magic use.

This is a template designed to take advantage of the many systems in game that are an alternative to magic use:

The end result is designed so that you can wield the top tier covenant armor, regardless of defense requirement, and you can wield the top tier, 400 base alchemy skill phials with only trained alchemy. Assess Creature is specialized to wield the Incomparable Lense.

Setup

Heritage

There are several possible heritage choices, depending on what innate skills you would like to start with:

  • Tumerok, or Aluvian with changed innate abilities - Choose these races if you wish to start off with specialized Assess Creature, for using Gearcrafted Lenses.
  • Undead, or Empyrean with changed innate abilities - Choose these races if you wish to start off with trained Alchemy, for using Alchemical Throwing Phials.
  • Empyrean, or Undead with changed innate abilities - Choose these races if you wish to start off with specialized Arcane Lore, for easier activation of magical items.
  • Sho, or Umbraen/Penumbraen Shadows with changed innate abilities - Choose these races if you wish to start off with trained Unarmed Combat.
  • Gear Knight, or Viamontian with changed innate abilities - Choose these races if you wish to start off with trained Mace.
  • Gharu'ndim, or Lugian with changed innate abilities - Choose these races if you wish to start off with trained Staff.
  • Lugian, or Gharu'ndim with changed innate abilities - Choose these races if you wish to start off with trained Thrown Weapons.

Be sure to review the innate augmentations as well, which are listed on Character Races.

Innate Skills

You should start with Melee Defense and your weapon skill of choice specialized, and healing trained. The rest of your skills depends on personal preference.

Optional: Arcane Lore if you went with an inexpensive weapon like UA or Spear

Trained

Required: Alchemy, Healing, Arcane Lore if not specialized
Optional: Cooking, Lockpick, Item Enchantment if you cannot get by without recalls.
