Knight Test

Quest Overview
This is the second society advancement quest, which increases rank from Adept to Knight. This quest is basically the same for all 3 societies. It is commonly viewed as the easiest advancement quest as it involves no required combat.
You must have turned in 295 Commendation Ribbons as an Adept in your society to be eligible for this quest. When you have turned in enough, the officer will direct you to the appropriate Inspector of Knights.
Walk Through
- As an Adept in your society, turn in Commendation Ribbons to the Commendations Officer in your society until he directs you to the Inspector of Knights.
- Speak to the Inspector of Knights in your Faction Stronghold in the east wing.
- Travel to the Ancient Cloister dungeon at 82.5S 96.1E on Ithaenc Island.
- Route: Use Sanctuary Recall, then run.
- [OPTIONAL] The dungeon has a large number of lore items scattered around the dungeon that can be translated in Hebian-To by Fanzen San the Translator. These are optional and give lore texts.
- Going up (never down) you will eventually come to a large room with a surface portal and a Leatherbound Journal on the ground. Take the journal.
- Note: Studying the map ahead of time will allow you to quickly run directly to the journal's location.
- Warning: The dungeon cannot be re-entered after you hand in the Leatherbound Journal to the Inspector of Knights, so be sure to recover any bodies before finishing.
- Return the journal to the Inspector of Knights in your Faction Stronghold.
- Speak to the Promotions Officer in the south wing for to advance to Knight rank, and get an experience reward, as well as 10 Trade Tokens, and a Knight's Treasure Key (3 uses).
- You now have access to Freebooter Isle. To access the isle, use the Statue of Transport at 82.6S 88.8E near the Ithaenc Cathedral (Sanctuary).
- Note: Becoming Master rank allows you to use a much more convenient statue within the stronghold to reach Freebooter.

Francesca du Orza tells you, "So... you are here for your third trial, adept. Welcome, and heed well what I say."
Francesca du Orza tells you, "By now you should be aware of the existence of the Falatacot, and the two branches from which they spring. One calling themselves Dark, another Light. One dealing in the power of undeath and corruption in service to their Old Ones, and one working to protect what they considered to be worshipful spirits - the Deru Trees. The followers of Adja looked to the Light Falatacot for inspiration."
Francesca du Orza tells you, "There was a hidden place where some of these Light Falatacot congregated once, long ago. They were known as the Hidden Sisterhood, for they hid from the vengeful attacks of their Dark cousins. In their cloister they recorded much of what it was to live in that ancient world. Eventually, they passed on - but their cloister still remains."
Francesca du Orza tells you, "Go there now - bring the secrets of the past to me. I have heard it said that there may be, in specific, a leatherbound journal which reveals many secrets of the past."
Francesca du Orza tells you, "Bring that to me. I can read Falatacot, and can tell you what it says if you show it to me."

Francesca du Orza tells you, "It details the existence of a place called Degar'Alesh - a powerful place to the Light Falatacot, for it was a secret place untouched by the darkness. Here it was that their most powerful temple had been built, atop a powerful ley line which sustained them and their servants."
Francesca du Orza tells you, "I tell you of this place because, now that it has come to light, many would seek to use it for their own ends. The Blighted One has made its appearance there, and slain the Deru Tree that once protected the island. Now we are able to make our way to that place, but beware - so can our rivals from the other factions."
Francesca du Orza tells you, "Now you know the secret of Degar'Alesh. Now, to continue your service to us, you must go there and fight in the War of the Ancient Powers."
