Marae Lassel Writing Contest

January 18, 2002

Contest Update
The winners of the writing contest have now been chosen! First place has gone to Neb, for the tale Flight of Two Moons:

The wooden chair creaks as Camauri leans back, stretching out his tattooed arms and yawning. He takes a long swig of ale and licks his lips as he sets the tankard back on the table.

"My younger brother is a far better crafter of stories than I am, but he is in Dryreach now, no doubt pestering your Ispar brethren."Cam says, with a toothy grin spread across his jovial features.

"I paid for a story as well as the ale."The young Isparian insists, his own half-filled tankard untouched on the table. The old tumerok sighs, and sits up straighter in the chair.

For the detailed list of winners, be sure to check out fanStory.com. Our congratulations to Neb, who comes away with a free year's subscription to AC Dark Majesty and 300 fanStory.com credits!

Contest Update: December 4, 2001
The deadline has been reached, and all entries submitted! While they are being reviewed, please feel free to peruse the tales on fanStory.com --and our sincere thanks to all participating writers!

Tales from the Mysterious Island
The first explorers are poised to step foot on the newly discovered island of Marae Lassel. What strange things of wonder, and woe, will they happen upon? Only those able to return and tell their tales can say. . . In celebration of the Asheron's Call Dark Majesty release, we have partnered with fanStory.com to present those intrepid explorers with the following challenge:

Tell us your tale of Marae Lassel, and enjoy free reign in Dereth! This contest runs until December 3rd; players are heartily encouraged to submit their short stories! Finalists will be chosen by those devious architects of the island itself, the Turbine developers, with the winning story receiving a free year's subscription to Asheron's Call!

Further information and rules for the Marae Lassel writing contest can be found on the pages of fanStory.com. Keep your quills as sharpened as your sword--and best of luck to you all!
