Shadowroot

Shadowroot Value: 10 4 Burden Units Unlike the name would suggest, this substance does not come from a plant. As the dark magic contained within Dereth spreads it looks like purplish-black roots reaching out through the ground. The Light's magic contains this force deep beneath the surface making it all but impossible to obtain one of these "roots".

Notes

• This spell component has not been, and is not currently, available anywhere in Dereth. This explains in part why Void Magic was not discovered until Leafcull, 21 PY and only became castable with the availability of the Foci of Shadow.^[1][2]
• This component can be seen in spell forumulae ID panels of some Void spells when no foci is held.
