Page Names

To make it easier to find locations of unknown name I've started adding redirect pages that include the coordinates for pages that are major points of interest and have a regular name. For example, for the page Battlefield of Ayn Tayan there's also a page for 41.3S, 52.6E - Battlefield of Ayn Tayan that redirects to Battlefield of Ayn Tayan and is itself categorized the same (keep all categories on the same line as the redirect or they won't get parsed, something unique to redirect pages). That way if you look up a site you come across in the Category:Point of Interest you can see if there's anything for that location and not miss something. --How often to wash makeup brushes? ,<a href=http://cheap-macmakeupor.webs.com/#38275>wholesale mac makeup</a> ,,http://clarisonicmia2us.webs.com/#18392 04:55, March 29, 2010 (UTC)

Template Update Nov 2008

Image Naming Format

I think we should come up with a standard for naming images for POIs, and also for quests, and other things that have the potential for several images associated with them. For example, on items and creatures, we name the files Article Name Live.jpg for the live shot, and then Article Name.jpg for the stats panel. For POIs would it make sense to name them Article Name Live 1.jpg, Article Name Live 2.jpg, etc.. or perhaps some other format? If we don't do this, then people just name them however they want, and it gets messy. I've seen this hodgepodge of naming on quests a lot, like Aerbax's Citadel, etc... --Atarax 13:52, 4 February 2009 (CST)

I agree. For most POIs, images should be named {{PAGENAME}}.jpg. And if needed, we would add 1, 2, etc or a description after the article name when multiple shots are needed. Same thing for quests. However, there are many times when we can use other images, such as the live shots of creatures, npcs, and items. So I don't think we should include any naming rules in the actual template code, instead we should add a note in the template description about image naming and use. --An Adventurer 14:07, 4 February 2009 (CST)

I agree, its smart to just have some notes about the proper format for each type of image. So if you are including an image that belongs to another page, it remains in its original format. I also think we should limit the number of images & screenshots on both POIs and quests to to 5 or 6, and define a "standard image size" for supplemental images (preferably in 800x800 format). Some pages like the Elysa's Favor Quest are getting a little out of control, and due to the fact that the image sizes are all different, it looks bad. --Atarax 10:30, 5 February 2009 (CST)
