Re: No Item Magic Templates
Hey, I saw you've created and worked on the No Item Magic Templates article. Nice addition. My main character has no magic, I'm glad to see others enjoy this route as well.
I have a few thoughts on and suggestions for the article.
- The title of the article should probably change. To me, "No Item Magic Templates" sounds like a section header for the Character Templates article, and below it we would list templates. Your article does not actually contain any template information (i.e. innate attributes, skills to use, augs to obtain) it is more a collection of alternatives to using item. So I would suggest moving the article to Item Enchantment Alternatives.
- would also suggest making companion articles, Creature Enchantment Alternatives and Life Magic Alternatives. Together these three pages could be linked to on any actual character template articles which suggest not taking magic skills.
- The layout and style could use some improvement to have a more neutral point of view. Basically, I would change it to simply list the item magic benefit, and what if any alternatives there are. E.g. Advantage: Ability to buff weapons. Alternative: Loot generated weapons with built-in enchantments, self-buffing quest weapons.
I'm going to do some work on the Item Enchantment Alternatives article, taking content No Item Magic Templates and doing some reformatting. Please check it out and feel free to contribute to it yourself. When the new page is in good shape, I will probably delete the old page or redirect it to the new page.
