Quest Overview
This quest is the first quest in the Shadow Invasion Quest Chain. This quest can only be completed once per character.
At the end of this quest you have 2 options for getting rewards, with the only difference being the title awarded. Which title you choose is entirely optional and does not have any known impact/effect on the rest of the quest chain.
Completing this quest allows you to do the next quest in the series, Strange Crystal Quest, after a 20 hour timer expires.
Walk Through
- [Optional] Speak to Isin Dule in Arwic at 33.4N, 56.9E. He will send you to Tou-Tou in search of a shadow spire.
- Run from Tou-Tou to The Shadows at 29.5S, 94.2E.
- Note 1: The Shadows is a dungeon filled with void magic creatures. It is recommended to wear as many Growth Aetheria as possible to diminish the effects of the damage over time spells.
- Note 2: In order to pass through the hallways, you will have to take down multiple Voids (doors) that block your route. Attack each with a fire rend on full speed for maximum damage.
- Note 3: It is a good idea to become familiar with the dungeon, as you will need to visit multiple times during the Shadow Invasion Quest Chain.
- From the drop, head down 14 flights of stairs.
- There are multiple route through the dungeon to the final room. You can choose to go east, west, or north in the first room. After that, continue going north whenever possible. See map for details. Shadow Child death messages:
- You hear a childish voice say, "They wait... no longer..."
- You hear a childish voice say, "One betrayal leaves two remaining. Two who are stronger than ever before."
- You hear a childish voice call upon the name of Ler Rhan, but the voice is faint and trails away into silence.
- Ler Rhan tells you, "You've survived to make it this far. Perhaps you have skills we could put to use."
- Ler Rhan tells you, "Take this message to Black Ferah at her scouting post near Tou-Tou."
- Ler Rhan tells you, "If you fail to do this, do not return."
- Ler Rhan gives you A message from Ler Rhan to Black Ferah.
- Ler Rhan tells you, "Either deliver that message to Black Ferah or suffer a fate worse than death."
- You allow Isin Dule to examine your A message from Ler Rhan to Black Ferah.
- Isin Dule examines the message carefully.
- Isin Dule tells you, "Ah, most interesting. This explains the spire that has appeared near Tou-Tou and the beginning of the generals' plans."
- Isin Dule tells you, "Bring this to Ferah so that they do not suspect we have received this information."
- Isin Dule tells you, "You must bring this message to Ferah before they realize you have slipped the information to us. Hurry!"
- Black Ferah tells you, "I suggest you leave this place."
Reward dialog, Clouded Soul:
- You allow Black Ferah to examine your A message from Ler Rhan to Black Ferah.
- You hand over 1 of your A message from Ler Rhan to Black Ferahs.
- Black Ferah tells you, "So Ler Rhan wants us to hold our attack for now. I have to wonder what he is waiting for, but I trust his lead on this."
- Black Ferah tells you, "I have no further need for you. If you keep up this kind of loyalty then perhaps we can use you in our ranks when the time comes."
- You've earned 350,000,000 experience.
- You've earned 30,000 Luminance.
- You have been award the title of Clouded Soul
- Black Ferah gives you Fortified Mana Forge Key.

Speaking to Isin Dule before your timer is up (if you showed the message to him first):
- Isin Dule tells you, "The kingdom thanks you for the information you have given us."
- Isin Dule tells you, "We are discussing over our plans to deal with this and will let you know more in the future."
Showing message to Isin Dule after having earned the Clouded Soul title (you do not earn a 2nd title):
- You allow Isin Dule to examine your A message from Ler Rhan to Black Ferah.
- Isin Dule examines the message carefully.
- Isin Dule tells you, "Ah, most interesting. I only wish we had this sooner.... I hope it is not too late for this information to be useful."
